Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12th, 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu dej (now OnestiThe name of the company is Onesti Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast in history to receive a score of a perfect of 10 in an Olympic competition. Comaneci was discovered by Bela Karolyi later the Romanian gymnastics coach, when she was six years old. Comaneci participated for the first time at the national junior championships, placing 13th. The following year she won the title of champion. In 1972, as part of the communist nations' meet for juniors in the lead-up to the Olympics she took home 3 gold and silver medals. In 1973 and 1974 she became the overall junior champion. She defeated the Russian Lyudmila Torishcheva. She was a five-time European Champion in her first senior international event in 1975. In the event, she won four golds and a silver. She was also the first female performer to make the reverse double salo of the bar with a parallel unevenness as part of her demount. She took home the trophy in the American Cup, held in New York City. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6 1942 at Chicago Illinois US. Carol entered the world of entertainment during her teens. At the age of 13, Carol began as a figure skater in the traveling show Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. The shows featured ice skating and other shows, which were also accompanied with theatrical music.
